Gus Moon at the Canal Public House Friday night

(This photo was taken last night by Jennifer Taylor, thanks again!! She also gets the credit for the photo in our first blog post, taken January 2015)

Man, what a great time at the Canal Public House in Dayton last night!! Got to share the stage with some great performers: Achilles Tenderloin, The Blind Cavalry, and Sidekick Complex. Special guest Aaron Nell played with every act, sometimes on trumpet, sometimes on accordian, and sometimes on fiddle. What a talent! He and Paige Beller joined us, on fiddle and drums, respectively, for a fun rendition of "Rundown." (I recorded it on my phone, but the audio quality is not up to par unfortunately.)

Now we're looking forward to heading to Richmond Indiana for a huge Songwriters Showcase, featuring around 30 artists from the region. The event spans Saturday and Sunday; we're playing Sunday evening. There is a similar type event in Dayton next weekend, with some overlapping artists and some different artists. We happen to be one of the overlapping acts, again playing on Sunday evening. In preparation for this weekend, on Thursday Gus and I got together for music and conversation, which is where I learned that whiskey and wine is a menacing combination. Not fatal, thankfully, and not necessarily punishing (well, kinda), but sneaky and effective.
