Many Thanks

Here we are in the midst of this short southern tour, and we wanted to take a moment to reflect on the great time that we've had, and to appreciate the support we've had from friends and strangers. Having friends along our routes who are willing to put us up for the night means a lot. Whether there's one, two, three or more of us crashing someone's house or apartment, we realize it's an imposition on daily life, and it means a lot to us that you'll put up with us. A big thanks to our friends in Knoxville, Charlotte, and Charleston for your hospitality and support.

We also need to thank the listening venues we've had the opportunity to play. You work hard, not just in putting together the particular show that we played, but year round developing a space where people come to listen to original music, and keeping that business up and running. We kicked off this trip at the Virginia Avenue Folk Fest in Fountain Square, Indianapolis. What an amazing day. Twelve hours of original music on over half a dozen stages, including where we performed, Square Cat Vinyl. On the road, we've had the good fortune to play at the Evening Muse in Charlotte, a relatively small, beautifully lit listening room. And quite the contrast in space, Awendaw Green, whose wide open grounds play host to a weekly showcase of original talent, where literally hundreds of people are there to soak it all in.

Moving forward, we're taking a break from the regular touring to spend some time in the studio. There are literally dozens of songs that we want to get recorded. Some that date back to the early days of Gus Moon that we just never took to the studio. Some are brand new and getting ironed out in rehearsals and shows. We start our time in the studio in early June, and we're excited to have these recordings coming out over the course of the next year.
